Horses and more Horses and Amelia!

summer days with friends

...friends of all shapes and sizes!

adventures in the secret garden. or the garden of secrets

it's always greener...

He's got the itty bitty baby in His hands.
it's just a jump to the left..
well we got home from house boating, we had some wonderful cousins come play we went for a very long hot walk to show them some horses. It was so nice having family come visit.  and as we have done much traveling this summer Mom said we were never going in the car again, as Joshua Loves it so much, so much that he screams for at least half of any trip we go on. So when Auntie Steph and Uncle Jonathan reminded mommy that Amelia was being dedicated the weekend after we got home.. well into the car we got. away we went to Devon, where Hannah slept in the trailer with Nanna and Joshua slept with mommy at Uncle Jonathan's and Aunt Stephanie's house.   We got there on Friday had a lovely day with Nanna, and then Saturday was Hannah's favorite,  She was surrounded with horses.  Amelia has a lovely Tante Nolene, and Oom Tim that are so nice. They let Hannah ride the horses for quite a while!  They also had a puppy that mommy wanted to bring home, we almost got away with it!  Then on Sunday Uncle Jonathan and Auntie Stephanie dedicated Amelia at their church, then we went to Amelia's Oma and Opa's farm, where there was MORE HORSES! and there were turkeys and pigs. But more importantly Hannah made a new friend named Alora, they  chased kittens and fed the pigs together. It was so much fun we didn't want to leave, except that Daddy wasn't with us, so we missed him a lot!  Wow what a weekend.. So mommy now says that we won't be going anywhere for a long time... hehehe little does she know we are getting low on milk.. ROAD TRIP! ah the advantage of living in rural Alberta, even a grocery run turns into a road trip!

Living life on a boat

Well what a way to end summer vacation, on a HOUSEBOAT it was wonderful, Mommy, Daddy took us for a week, we swam, Hannah learned how to do a "starfish" that's when you can float on your back with no life jacket or assistance from anyone else! Joshua loved the sound of the motor, and slept well! Daddy waked boarded a lot! even went to a lesson with friends.. But Daddy said he was getting to old to do that any more, and hurt his shoulder pretty badly, said he could't change diapers for a few weeks... Mommy made him do it any ways.  we had Jason and Diane, Austin and Parker Knibb stay with us. Auntie Diane made the BEST pancakes EVER just don't tell mommy we said that.  Also a friend named Alan was with us. We sure liked all those guys to play with.  Grandma and Auntie Vava came on Monday and stayed with us until Friday, then we all had to pack up and go home, We were not to excited about that.  But Mommy and Daddy said that we still had some fun things to do.  We drove to a little town called Falkland in British Columbia and met Grandma's brother Mogens and his wife Irene. THEY HAVE MULES!! and we could leave it at that but.. wouldn't you like to hear about our adventures there.  Mommy says it is a little piece of heaven, and if heaven is like that then we want to go there someday too!  There are humming birds that dive your head, there are two kitties. Tommy Girl and Emma, there are a bunch of cows (all have names) and the mules; wow the mules         they were the big favorite Hannah went for two long rides, and Josh sat on one, her name is Maize, she is the mule that Uncle Mogens takes to Spruce Meadows, and Jessie was the other one that we fell in love with.  We also went for walks down to a creek that ran through the other mules pasture, it was beautiful.  We played in the water which was quite chilly but in the summer heat felt wonderful.  The cats would come for walks with us, Oh and can't forget Riley the pooch she is blind and deaf, but a sweet pooch none the less.

anyways lots of fun adventures, now we are home.  Daddy is getting ready for harvest so we do not see as much of him now, but Mommy walks us up to the farm ( we sit in the stroller and encourage her up the hills) and see Daddy for supper.

Summer Time for Hannah and Joshua

This summer has been a great one. Hannah and Joshua along with their parents traveled to Ontario to visit many cousins,  Aunts and Uncles, also to see Papa and Leelee, Great Grandpa Dennis and Great Grandma Bethune.  it was so hot in Ontario Hannah and Joshua spent most of their time in Papa's pool, they  also played at the park with their cousin's Evan, Madison and Wilson.  some other cousins Sydney, Bobby and Myra invited Hannah and Joshua to come play on their trampoline, and go visit their Nana, who also is Mommy's Aunt Bev. We played with Tara and Justin too! we had a pool party with them! and then more fun with Evan, Madison and Wilson at the park with their dog charlie, who looks a lot like Molly, bu the plays so he is a lot of fun!  Hannah and Joshua and Mommy said good bye to Daddy on Sunday and then spent more time visiting family.  At the end of the trip they all went for three days to Toronto to stay with Uncle Trevor, Auntie Angie, Benjamin and Mathey .  It was a lovely time in Ontario and look forward to when Daddy is there longer, and Joshua is old enough to enjoy it as well!

this is the end of our trip to Ontario, but we will have more to report on as it is not the end of our summer!
